Meet The Team: Pete

I am a fitness industry veteran, having taught group classes for the past 25 years, while working full time as a sports ground curator. I’ve long retired from full time work to pursue my true passion, which is health, fitness and pilates.

I’ve learnt firsthand how valuable pilates is for injury rehabilitation.

Having experienced a serious back injury many years ago which resulted in surgery, and in the past two years I’ve had both my hip joints replaced.

Even I was surprised by the rapid recovery I had from these surgeries, and how quickly I was able to return to a high quality of daily fitness activity.

By working as a pilates professional, my mission is to help people reap the incredible benefits of pilates no matter what issue or injury they may experience.

Supporting clients to achieve their health and fitness goals is very rewarding and I look forward to helping many more people achieve a happier, healthier life!

Here’s a little about me…

Favourite Food

I’m a vegetarian who loves food from all over the world.  However, I am fortunate to have a vegetable garden at home, that is being used at the moment for lots of hot and spicy Asian inspired cuisine.

Favourite Pilates Exercise

Hundreds!!! Always gets me to sweat and there are so many different variations.

Mat or Equipment?

If pressed to pick one I would have to say mat. It’s portable so you can do it anywhere and you can still incorporate small equipment like the magic circle which is a Joseph Pilates invention.

Best Thing About Being a Pilates Teacher

It’s been a pleasure for me to gain an understanding of how thoughtful movement can aid the human body. And not only being able to share the benefits that the pilates method brings to others but the satisfaction of seeing so many individual lives influenced and changed for the better.

What I Love About Pilates Plus

The commitment and dedication we all share in bringing the original work of Joseph Pilates to the community.

Favourite Things To Do On The Weekend

Spending time with my family is the most important thing on the agenda. Then exploring Melbourne’s hidden gems, bike riding (a need for speed), during summer going to the surf coast to do some boogie boarding, and any time of year going to or following the footy, rugby, cricket, soccer, tennis, just a sports tragic. 🙂
