Have you had a stretch today? I didn’t think so! Most people don’t understand how important being flexible is to their overall fitness and to the health of their spine. In fact, most people don’t think about the health of their spine until something goes wrong with it! Over the course of a lifetime, poor posture, which includes tight muscles, can hasten the degeneration of the spine. What does that mean? It can stop you from doing all the activities that you want to and in severe cases, it can severely effect the quality of your day to day life…including your sleep!! So do your body a favour and take 5-10 minutes at the end of your day to STRETCH! Who knows, you may even enjoy it! Pete arrived at the studio the other day with a home grown giant zucchini! Wasn’t sure what to do with it, but ended up making a Zucchini cake which became the centre of attention at our weekly team meeting. I’ve put the recipe on the recipe page BUT just because it has a vegetable in it doesn’t make it healthy…so don’t over indulge!!

Have you been watching the biggest loser? It gets alot of bagging because it is so extreme. But the reality is that these people are on a fast track to an early death and they NEED some extreme measures to turn themselves around and start heading in the other direction. 62% of the Australian population are overweight or obese!! That’s almost 2 out of 3 people..including children!! We have to take some sort of action to turn this around so those people can be healthier and happier.
