Helen Molnar February 2012

Helen’s story is all about being the quiet achiever!

She first started Pilates, just once a week, in June 2010 because she had a hip injury which was giving her a lot of pain. After 12 weeks, her hip pain had decreased significantly and after another 12 weeks had gone away. So at the start of 2011 Helen made the decision to lose weight and started researching nutrition and started a food diary.

She also started walking, initially just 10 minutes a day and never missed her once a week Pilates session. She has really been committed to her initial decision and her plan

During the last 12 months Helen has consistently lost weight and HAS NOW LOST AN INCREDIBLE 20KGS!

As well as her trophy, Helen will receive 6 spin classes, valued

at $198 as part of her prize……CONGRATULATIONS HELEN!

Simon Glyde November 2011

Simon arrived at the studio 5 months ago with a debilitating injury to his lower back. Being a builder, it was a major issue which was impacting his ability to work. Being a “bloke”, Simon had no idea what Pilates was and thought it was just stretching and something to do with your core. But, after being told by his Osteopath that Pilates would help his back, he started his Pilates journey. After consistently attending his sessions, and taking on board everything he was asked to do…he no longer has a back issue! Like most people Simon is time poor but has managed to lose weight and increase his fitness by incorporating a run to and from the studio on his training nights. His goals have shifted and are more fitness orientated, especially now that Simons bowling performance at indoor cricket has sky rocketed, and he will be incorporating some spin sessions into his training.
Simon receives six spin sessions as part of his prize

Pat Shelper October 2011

Some of you might recognize Pat as she has been involved in the fitness industry for many years, having owned her own fitness centre. She is an inspiration with her running, and her goal of competing in    the  New York Marathon and winning her age category(70+) is a  remarkable achievement!(Good Luck For November Pat).

When Pat started Pilates, her goals were to find out what Pilates was about and to improve her flexibility, which in turn would help her running. One area of flexibility Pat struggled with was being able to sit on the floor with her legs crossed.Whilst not everybody wants to run a marathon, I know many people could relate to that!

I’m happy to say that Pat was able to sit on the floor during a visit to  her grandsons school recently. She has been consistant with her attendance and work effort during her sessions and has stayed injury free during her marathon preparation..

Pat receives as part of her prize the Forty + Fitness program.

Iren Citler September 2011

Iren is receiving our award this month because of the consistant   effort she puts into her training. She is one of our strongest female spinners and has the drive and motivation to always be striving to improve her performance and the results she gets.

She has a busy life with work and kids but fronts up for her 6.30am spin classes ready to give it her all!

Iren has also managed to do this while dealing with a chronic lower back issue. She has been doing Pilates for a number of years now and although her back issue won’t be cured by Pilates, it has had a major impact on her ability to live her life without constant pain.

Congratulations Iren!

Blanche Zaitman May 2011

When I first met Blanche, she was in constant pain with arthritis. She  was taking pain medication every day and couldn’t walk for any  extended period of time. She had heard that Pilates might help. Since then, Blanche has reduced her pain medication to just occasionally,    has lost weight and participates in spin classes…. and is about to  start TRX training in the park. Her attitude to  training is always positive, she has really been consistent and persistent!

This is what she has to say about her experience….”the quality of my day to day life has improved dramatically and I have no pain in my body.. The other day I ran around the house chasing my grandson….I RAN!!!’’

‘’My next challenge is the outdoor training and I can’t wait!’’

Blanche also received 3 Personal Training  Sessions as a prize for her great achievements!

Elaine Rietman August 2011

I have known Elaine for nearly 9 years now and in that time, I’ve   seen her go from strength to strength with her health and fitness.

When we first started training, Elaine had lost a lot of strength and  was troubled with a couple of injuries. She now attends our outdoor training program twice a week and pilates once a week with no  trouble from injuries and is doing exercises which would have been impossible for her to do at the start of her training.

She is strong, fit, pain free and able to live an active on the go life.

She is always willing to give anything a go and understands the importance of keeping your body fit and constantly moving, is very consistent with her training and very rarely misses a session and is always willing to work hard. This is why she is getting such great results

ELAINE RECEIVES A FREE BIOAGE TEST AS PART OF HER PRIZE

Pam Horsey March 2011

When Pam first started at pilates Plus she was in constant pain with arthritis. She had heard that Pilates could help people with arthritis so she thought that she would give it a go! Since then Pam has gone from strength to strength, participating in studio pilates classes and our outdoor fitness training program. Whilst her arthritis hasn’t gone away…there is a marked decrease in the amount of pain she is expereincing in her daily life. One of the key components to achieving health and fitness goals is being consistant with your training. Another is to apply yourself and do the best you can in each of your training sessions….and Pam has done exactly that! And as a result she is now strong and fit and has a positive attitiude to her fitness and training. And her fitness is about to go to the next level,as part of her award, Pam has been given 10 Spin classes….one of her favourite training sessions!

Congratulations Pam!

Gail McDonald November 2010

November 2010 – Gail McDonald

Being a Highett resident, Gail found Pilates Plus by driving and walking by the studio. She was a member of a gym and had been doing pilates mat classes, but was very interested in trying Pilates in a studio. Like most office workers, Gail had ongoing neck and upper back pain and occasional lower back pain. As you can see from her video, she now has no ongoing pain in her neck or lower back and feels and looks fit and healthy. Gail always gives her all and has been willing to be guided(cajoled) into trying classes and exercises that she didn’t think that she would ever be able to do. Pilates has given her the core strength and good movement techniques to enable her to participate in Fitness in the Park classes and Spin sessions with confidence.

CONGRATULATIONS GAIL!

Rachel Dennett October 2010

October 2010 – Rachel Dennett

Rachel has been a client of mine for the past 7 years and has made it a family affair with her dad John and her partner Brett now clients as well. Over the last 7 years, Rachel has had periods of time where she has managed to maintain her fitness routine on her own, then when she needed a boost or had a specific training goal she wanted to achieve, we would re start a personal training program. So having known Rachel and Brett for a long time, I was very happy to here th news that they were expecting their first child. During her pregnancy, Rachel has been motivated and consistant in her approach to her fitness and she is reaping the rewards by not experiencing any major issues with her body. The fact that Rachel was fit going into her pregnancy, has also contributed to the lack of injuries.

Good Luck to both Rachel and Brett!

Carol Beale September 2010

September 2010 – Carol Beale

Carol has been a client at Pilates Plus since March 2010. Her goals were similar to alot of people, she wanted to improve her fitness, lose a bit of weight, have more energy and enjoy her exercise.

Also like many people, she had tried to do it on her own, doing a bit of walking and joining the gym(but not managing to get there!!) . But without a structured plan of action and the support, accountability and the knowledge she needed, the results just didn’t happen and she was feeling a bit frustrated with her efforts.

So Carol started participating in 2 spin classes a week and also participated in our 6 week Back to Basics Weight Loss Program. She has lost just over 4kgs and looks and feels fantastic. She has been really consistant with her training and has a very positive attitude. In August she manged to burn 3125 calories in her spin classes!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR AWARD CAROL!
